Help Amelia raise money

I've been involved with Romero House since I was a Summer Worker in 2018. I started the full year program in 2020 and have just finished my second full year at Romero! This is a vibrant community which I'm so grateful to be part of.

Romero House offers a huge range of supports to refugee claimants including assistance finding emergency shelter, Legal Aid applications, lawyer referrals, housing, Ontario Works (welfare) applications, setting up bank accounts and doing school registration, accessing our healthcare system and more. It is incredibly overwhelming to enter Canada as a refugee and navigate a refugee claim as well as our systems here. Romero House is there to guide people through the process and say "you are welcome here". We hope to do this work in the spirit of accompaniment, while practicing to live as good neighbours!

I have challenged myself to run 21km to help raise money for Romero House to help it thrive and continue to do the incredibly essential work it does. Thank you for your donation and for joining us in this work! I am so grateful for your support.
