Join us for the Inaugural Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute’s 5k Run/Walk at ChristianaCare. Founded in 2002, the Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute is a volunteer organization working in cooperation with the clinical staff of the Graham Cancer Center to help fund programs that enhance the patient care experience, support cancer research, and provide public education on prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer.

We are thrilled to announce our incredibly generous Step Up to the Challenge matching gift. Susan and Dan Katzin, area residents, will match up to $375,000 of this year’s fundraising effort. The Katzin Family is passionate about bringing critical technology to the Graham Cancer Center to impact lung cancer education, prevention, early detection and treatment efforts in Delaware and the surrounding community.

Funds raised will support the acquisition of a robotic bronchoscope. The first of its kind in Delaware, the robotic bronchoscope allows for more accurate and earlier detection of lung cancer. This new technology is vital to diagnosing lung cancer sooner and saving lives.

Lung cancer is the cause of 33% of Delaware’s cancer deaths. With your help, we can continue to decrease lung cancer mortality in our region. We hope you will “step up” and support our event today!

Located on the Christiana Hospital campus, the beautifully designed and landscaped, 200,000-square-foot Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute is a state-of-the-art facility that serves a majority of the cancer patients residing in Delaware. This National Cancer Institute selected Community Cancer Center features advanced medical, surgical and radiation procedures and diagnostic services. The cancer research program includes the Center for Translational Research, a collaborative program with the University of Delaware. The Graham Cancer Center also includes the ChristianaCare Breast Center, an outpatient facility that features the state’s only dedicated breast MRI.

Timing

R2R Timing will chip time using the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System

Results

Results will be posted online during the race and complete results will be posted once the race is complete.
