Help Janice raise money

John and I are walking 'virtually' in the Mississauga Half Marathon during the first week of May 2022.  We walked the half marathon in Toronto in 2018 and were scheduled to participate in May 2020 before the lockdowns. In 2021 we walked the half marathon ‘virtually’ submitting our time and distance results on our Under Armour app.  John and I plan to walk the 21 km virtually again this year using the same app for accountability. The back roads of our township provide a good place for walking.

This is a fundraiser for the Grand Philharmonic Choir with which John and I have sung since 2004. The Grand Philharmonic Choir has provided world class music to the Waterloo Region since 1922, 100 years, and though the choir has been unable to perform live concerts during the pandemic, members were at ‘rehearsal’ on Monday evenings on Zoom for an entire year. The Phil, along with three other choirs from across Canada, recorded a commissioned work titled “Take This Thread’, composed by Katarina Gimon with words by Lauren Peat. The choir returned to in-person rehearsal in February 2022, preparing the Brahms Requiem for performance on Good Friday 2022 at the Centre in the Square concert hall, Kitchener, Ontario. The audience loved it!!! Standing ovation and loud cheers!
