Help Jason raise money

For participating in 2022 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend

My Story…

Mission Accomplished!

Race Finished & Fundraising Goal Exceeded

After taking a hiatus from our Homeruns for Miracles events that raised money for the Children’s Miracle Network to support premature babies, the Conway Family is back to do this critical fundraising work.

On May 1, I will run the Pittsburgh Marathon in honor of 3-year old Hunter, born prematurely at 32 weeks, and weighing just under 5 lbs. His mother suffered a placenta abruption, and both are blessed to be alive today. Today, he is a healthy boy full of personality who benefits from receiving early intervention services. Hunter represents how the Children’s Miracle Network gives patients at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh a fighting chance.

As a family, we have dedicated our fundraising efforts to pay it forward for the support we received from the Children’s Miracle Network when our son Brooks, who is now 16 years old, healthy and thriving, was born at 25 weeks, weighing just 1 lb 6 oz. He spent four months in the neonatal intensive care unit at the Penn State Health Children’s Hospital. He represents why we believe miracles do happen.

If we have a successful Pittsburgh Marathon fundraising campaign, we plan to launch a grander multi-year, multi-state Running4Miracles initiative this summer. To be updated on our progress and added to our supporters' database, please email me at jt3conway@gmail.com.

Description

As part of Team Children's, my participation in the 2022 Pittsburgh Marathon supports UPMC Children's Hospital Foundation.

Funds support the patients and families served by UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Last year UPMC Children's Hospital had over 1 million patient visits and many of the programs, initiatives, and resources that make UPMC Children’s so special are funded by philanthropic gifts. Things like distraction therapy which provides patients something else to focus on during their medical procedures, the Child Life Department which provides many activities to create a sense of normalcy for hospitalized children, and the Free Care Fund which covers the cost of medical care for those that cannot afford it. These areas are not covered by insurance, yet are critically important to helping families face the many challenges that accompany a child’s treatment.

Please consider donating to support the patient champions at UPMC Children's! You can donate directly on this page or send a check to the address below and make a note that you are sponsoring my efforts.
