Help Erin raise money

For participating in 2022 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon Weekend

My Story…

In 2022 I will be celebrating 9 *heartbreaking/happy/transformative* years of remission by running my very FIRST FULL Marathon in support of Young Adult Survivors United, a local non-profit supporting cancer Patients and Survivors.

I imagine the miles of this race will feel much like the last 9 years of my life - filled with high and lows, but always faced with resilience.

Some years are amazingly light, like floating on water on a sunny day. Treatment and life are predictable and enjoyably uneventful. Your routine scans come back clear leaving you the mental space to just savor and enjoy life events like buying a house, getting married, and taking incredible trips around the world. You have room to breathe and soak it all in.

Other years can feel incredibly heavy, like walking through quicksand. Scans come back with questionable results, new aches and pains cause that persistent panic in the back of your mind, medications are hard to regulate, and biopsies leave you sore and stressed. You're still breathing, but there's no room for that deep, peaceful exhale.

That is why it is critical to support organizations that throw you a life vest during the hard times that make the good days possible, like Young Adult Survivors United [YASU]. I first met Stephanie Scoletti, President & Founder of YASU, two years into my survivorship when I was struggling to find my "new normal". Her leadership and group of amazing Survivors helped me forge a new path for myself at a critical time in my life.

Now, I'm proud to give back to the group who gave me so much by raising $1,500.

Will you help me hit my goal and make a change in the life of someone when they need it most? Your money will go directly towards groceries, utility bills, rides to treatment, childcare, and more for cancer patients aged 18 to 39 years in the immediate region.
