Help us raise money

For participating in 2022 Cleveland Marathon

Our story…

CTE is a devastating neurodegenerative disease caused by repetitive head impacts in sports and military service that can only be diagnosed after death. We are raising funds to support the Concussion Legacy Foundation’s End CTE campaign, which is leading efforts to prevent, diagnose, and treat CTE while supporting patients and families fighting the disease.

We are participating in memory of members of our community we have lost to CTE, Tom McHale, '87, Leo Reherman, '88, and Dave Van Metre, '86.

We are competing against the other Ivy League schools like Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, Brown, and Penn to see who can raise the most funds. To remind us we’re all in the fight to End CTE together, the losing captains will film themselves singing the winner’s fight song and CLF will post the video to their social media accounts (like last year). Thank you for supporting our team!

A note from Cornell Team Captain Lisa McHale:

May 25th will mark 14 years without my husband, Tom McHale. I suspect that May will always be a challenging month; but on May 21st, I will be gathering with family, friends and Cornell teammates of Tom, to celebrate the progress that the Concussion Legacy Foundation has achieved over the last 14 years in changing the way the world understands and talks about sports related head trauma.

We are forming a team to run in memory of Tom, Leo Reherman, and Dave Van Metre, all teammates on Cornell’s 1985 squad, and all of whom were lost far too young. All proceeds will benefit the Concussion Legacy Foundation in our effort to create a world without CTE and concussion safety without compromise.
