May 6th - Pre-Race Volunteer Opportunities
Race Packet Distribution Volunteer
Shifts: 8am - 11:30am; 11am - 2:30pm; 2pm-5pm (includes a 30-min training session)
- Help set up the space and organize materials alphabetically prior to the beginning of packet pickup.
- Attend a 30-minute training session to learn the distribution process – this will start immediately prior to packet pickup.
- Ensure the correct race packet is distributed to all participants.
- Keep an accurate record of who has picked up their materials as they are distributed.
May 7th Race-Day Volunteer Opportunities
Course Set-Up Volunteer
Shift length: 6am - 8am
- Help set up markers and cones on the course.
Shift length: 5:30am - 8am
- Help set up tables and chairs in the community village area and help set up an area where kids can play during the event.
Registration Volunteer
Shift length: 6am - 8am
- Help set up the registration area and register participants before the race.
- Distribute any race packets that were not picked up the day before.
Shift length: 6:30am - 8:30am
- Direct people where to park before the race.
Shift length: 7am - 11am
- Help set up aid stations at start/end of the course and at the turnaround point of the course.
- Monitor aid station and hand out water during the race.
Shift length: 7:30am - 11am
- Stand at different places throughout the course and cheer on participants.
- Ensure that spectators are not standing on the course, ensure that participants are on the right side of the course (not running into people going the opposite way on the course).
Shift length: 7:30am - 11am
- Cheer on participants at the finish line, remove chips from participants, hand out ribbons, and direct participants to water/aid station as needed.
Shift length: 11am - 12:30pm
- Help clean up course markers and tables and chairs from the community village.
