My Story…
Almost every year since 1987, I have run the The Human Race, a wonderful community event that raises hundreds of thousand of dollars each year for dozens of local charities. Again this year, I am running in support of Better Beginnings, a charity my wife, Rosanne, founded 15 years ago. Better Beginnings holds "Breastfeeding Cafes" each week where trained lactation specialists provide free expert advice to new moms so they can feed their babies successfully. They also have 24/7 coverage to provide emergency labor support by Doulas who volunteer their services to women with urgent needs. Visit www.betterbeginningsforbabies.org and like them at facebook.com/betterbeginningsforbabies. I have many happy memories or the Human Race. I ran with my daughters for many years - then they easily beat me. In 2009, my granddaughter was first in the Under-3-weeks age group (see team photo). My goals this year are to finish first in my age group: 69 year old left handed Libras born in Eureka; and to run a personal best time [this has nothing to do with the fact that this year the run is a 5K instead of a 10K]. Help me support Better Beginnings.

Under the banner of Epic Communities, the agents, staff, and management of CENTURY 21 Epic support numerous charities and non-profits here in the North Bay. Whether in company-wide events or by individuals helping the charity of their choice, we want to help our communities—our neighbors. We want to be involved in making where we live better. In recent years, we have supported food banks, local veterans, American Cancer Society, ALS, Red Cross, Alzheimer’s Association, youth sports, fire victims, shelters, and more. My efforts in the Human Race are part of the commitment we have to help others.
