After 26 years as a Combat Engineer, with 11 of those years in SOF, I have been medically released from the Canadian Army due to injuries. After hundreds (if not thousands) of explosive blasts and multiple operational deployments, I have spent the majority of my career specializing in explosives, including 20 years as a bomb disposal (IEDD) technician and numerous years as a breaching specialist and instructor. I have been honoured by the opportunity to serve and am now honoured to join the fight against CTE, Traumatic Brain injury, and the associated Mental Health obstacles faced by so many of our military and first responder members, like me.
