Welcome to team Charging Crystals.

The Charging Crystals are a group of friends raising money in support of the Elisabeth Bruyere Brain Health & Memory Clinic and in memory of Crystal Barrington. 

This past month our friend Makena lost her mother, her father Mark lost his wife, and the world lost one of the greatest dancers of all time - Cryssy. For the past four years the Bruyere foundation has been instrumental in helping the Barrington-White family navigate through Crystal’s strokes and Alzheimers & Dementia diagnosis’. Although her disease rendered her incapable of many things, Crystal focused on what she could do - which was share her story in hopes of helping others like herself & raising funds for brain health. Crystal & her family shared their story at the Bruyere Life Changing Breakfast in 2019 to bring awareness to Bruyere’s Brain Health & Memory Clinic. (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0iIDSiBMnZ4). 

In honour of Crystal our team will be running a variety of race lengths, both in person and virtually, over the Ottawa Race Weekend. We’ve been told by Makena that Crystal herself loved a good 10km run back in the day, so we’ll be channeling her energy through each and every step.
