Special Needs Community Initiative

We envision a community that supports residents through life’s challenges and joys; that fosters independence as well as a connection with each other and the larger community; and an environment that is safe and sustainable. We will accomplish our vision through the following goals: 

• Create a safe environment with pedestrian-only streets, gated entrance with guard house, parking area outside the gates, and 24-hour onsite staff. 
• Conserve the earth’s resources through environment-friendly and sustainable practices – green design and construction, energy-efficiency, recycling, conservation, and renewable energy. 
• Embrace opportunities for social interaction and engagement through our Learn, Work, and Play Programs. 
• Create a supportive and cooperative environment through shared experiences and shared spaces. 
• Inspire residents to make their voices and ideas heard and make decisions for the community through consensus.
