Our Story
It's cancer, a diagnosis every parent dreads, and yet this is the one we received on December 4th 2020, when Scarlett was diagnosed with liver cancer.
Receiving that diagnosis would be hard enough under normal circumstances, but it was incredibly hard especially during a pandemic. The opportunities for Scarlett to have a buddy to play with, to craft, to laugh, to be distracted from the hardships she would endure, were nearly impossible during our many lock downs.
We are so grateful to have had Campfire Circle (formerly Camp Ooch) offer Scarlett such a wonderful distraction to look forward to, during a time that presented with many challenges. From the Oochigeas always ready and willing to make slime for the 6th time, to playing the ukulele to the frozen soundtrack for the 100th time, it was just what Scarlett needed. So many of you have shown our family such kindness and generosity during Scarlett's treatment, and to you we are forever grateful.
Our family will be participating in this years 10K run, jog, walk to raise funds for the Camp that continues to help children smile and make memories, even when things are tough.
