Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Task Force, Inc.

Raise money for Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Task Force, Inc.

The Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Task Force, Inc. (CAN Prevent) was formed in 1976 as a voice against child maltreatment in northern Nevada. The focus of the task force was to create programs and public awareness campaigns that would help raise the recognition of what child abuse and neglect was as well as to create a means to combat the devastating ripple effect that it caused.

In 1997, CAN Prevent started their most impactful program, Project Safe and Growing. A day treatment program for children ages three to five who have been identified as victims of crime. This means children who were physically, emotionally, and sexually abused, neglected, exposed to domestic violence, and/or drugs. The program is FREE to all children who attend. There is no other program that is free of charge and outpatient based, like Project Safe and Growing within a 900-mile radius.

Funds donated to CAN Prevent will go directly towards Project Safe and Growing, to help the most vulnerable population in our community.
