Raise money for Advocates for Victims of Assault
Advocates for Victims of Assault, Inc. (Summit Advocates) was established in 1979 out of a need to support victims of domestic violence in Summit County and has since expanded services to include survivors of sexual assault, stalking, and related traumas. Summit Advocates works to provide short-term resources that enhance the safety and justice for survivors while promoting peace in our community. Our services include bilingual, survivor-defined, trauma-informed advocacy; legal advocacy; a low-barrier, pet-friendly safe house and transitional housing unit; emergency financial assistance; access to mental health resources; and outreach and education that works to prevent violence before it occurs. We also provide access to a 24/7 crisis hotline to support survivors in need of emergency assistance. We are a resource for survivors, law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, medical facilities, the school district, and many other community partners. In 2021, we answered 396 crisis calls and served 374 new clients.
