My Story…
Spinal Cord Injury BC has been a part of my life since my car accident in 1994. I have been to various events in person. When I started leading games night every Friday through zoom during the pandemic, I had no idea how much it would change my life! It is so much fun and easy to participate from my home and people keep coming back every week! I have met some really supportive friends. They understand what it is like to have a spinal cord injury. At the time I wasn't really exercising at all and I had a difficult time with my health after the birth of my third son. Marney Smithies, a peer, invited me to join boxing and I started to feel so much better once I started an exercise routine. Now you can find me regularly dancing, boxing, and exercising from the comfort of my own home through zoom with my peers. We have become great friends and encourage each other to stay active and have fun socializing and talking about all sorts of things!
