Why AutismBC moves me...
Parker is back at it again! On Sunday, June 12th, for his second year in a row, our little champion is going to be running 1km in the Virtual Scotiabank Half Marathon to raise funds for Autism BC. As many of you will remember, Parker ran his very first race last year and it was one of the happiest days of his life. Last year Parker and his team managed to raise over $2500 for a cause dear to our hearts, and we can't wait to see how much we can raise this year!
If you know Parker, you are probably aware that he is not only the coolest, funniest, sweetest kid ever, and he is also Autistic. We have chosen to run for Autism BC once again, as it is an organization that has supported our family and thousands more just like us. Autism BC provides countless resources to Autistic individuals and their families, from social support groups to community events and informative training courses. They advocate hard and provide a voice for the Autistic community. These are just a few of the reasons why we feel the need to give back to Autism BC.
We are so excited to run with Parker and cheer him on at that finish line again as he pounds the pavement for an awesome cause! Go Parker, Go!!
