Help us raise money for the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre.

The mission of the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre (DEWC) is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment for self-identified women from all walks of life, who live and/or work in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside (DTES). DEWC has existed since 1978 to provide one of the few low-barrier, safe spaces in the DTES, a neighbourhood characterized by high levels of violence, homelessness, addictions, and poverty, where women and children are particularly vulnerable to exploitation and injustice. 

DEWC operates low-barrier drop-in centre and shelter services throughout the DTES, which offer safety, supportive surroundings, nutritious meals, and basic essentials to women of the community. Oftentimes, a hot nutritious meal is a gateway for the community's most vulnerable women to a continuum of holistic supports to improve her situation.
