Mansfield Outdoor Centre, Mansfield, Ontario
We love a good theme for our events and this one is no exception!
The Lost Treasure Trail Race is inspired by the legend of none other than Jesse James, the American Outlaw. Rumour has it that Jesse wanted to escape the long arm of the law in the US so he decided to bring his recently acquired gold coin fortune up to Canada to hide out with his relatives in Mulmur. Check out the story by Jeanette McFarlane of Dufferin County Goods here:

VIRTUAL OPTION
Live too far away? Schedule conflicts? FOMO? No problem! Sign up for our virtual event and we will send you a custom medal, bib and towel (see photos below) so you can participate any day, anytime, anywhere! Virtual Run Packages will start mailing late April via Canada Post.
10K RACE - 09:30am START
Before heading up into the single track, you will complete a loop around the base on wide, grassy trail. Then up you go, about 550 metres also on double wide, which leads into the winding single track. After you hit the aid station at approximately 4.5K, be prepared for some longer, steeper climbs but don't fret, you'll finish on a nice downhill!
5K RACE - 10:00am START
No time to waste as you start on a climb of about 550 metres on double wide trail. Once you hit the top, say hello to the winding single track that Mansfield is known for! Once you hit the aid station, it's a hard left that leads to the well deserved downhill to the finish!
LOCATION - Mansfield Outdoor Centre
The Mansfield Outdoor Centre features an incredible variety of trails for both mountain biking, cross country skiing and, of course, running.
MOC is a jewel in the crown of Dufferin County and is nestled in the hills of Mulmur Township on 300 acres of forest, fields and the Pine River.
BIB PICKUP * SWAG * AID STATION * POST RACE
BIB PICKUP
Opens at 8:30am on race morning beside the lodge.
SWAG
Each finisher will receive our double sided coin medal as well as a logo'd cooling towel!
AID STATION & CUP FREE
There will be one aid station on the 10K course (approximately at the halfway point), providing water and electrolytes. The 5K'ers hit this late in the game so we recommend you carry your own fluids from the start if you like. This is a CUP-FREE event, therefore you will need to bring your own handheld, hydration pack or bottle to fill. We are working on a 250ml flask that will be available for purchase with registration and at event.
POST RACE ACTIVITIES
After you cross the finish line, be sure to visit both the Taphouse and Spy Distillery tents. Spy will be providing a complimentary cider sample for each racer and you'll be able to purchase for take home. Taphouse will be serving up burgers and hot sandwiches (including meat free) at an additional fee (partially subsidized by your race entry) as well as their craft brew selection!
COVID 19 PROTOCOLS
As the situation with COVID 19 is very fluid and ever-changing, we will post the most up to date protocols to be followed by race organizers, volunteers and participants closer to race day. As of March 1, Athletics Ontario has waived the proof of vaccination requirement. We will however follow all required guidelines as dictated by Public Health and/or our race venues. If there are any changes or additions, they will be posted here so please refer back here for information.
THE FINE PRINT
* No refunds. If event is cancelled for any reason, all participants will be transferred to the 2022 Virtual Run option.
* No headphones, pets or strollers on course.
* We will follow all Government and Health Guidelines as part of our COVID Safety Plan. Any restrictions or protocols will be posted here leading up to race day.
