Help Ben raise money

For participating in The 2022 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

My Story…

Twenty-one years ago, and mostly to hide my admittedly poorly-trained identity, I made the rash decision to rent a lobster suit from a local party store and join the ranks of (what was) a growing collection of costumed runners in the Falmouth Road Race. Little did I know at the time that it would become an annual test of my commitment to tradition, and frankly embarrassing tomfoolery.

This year, I am again both excited and humbled to be able to both run for an incredible cause, and captain of team of enthusiastic and caring runners doing the same. In the wake of an incredibly challenging pandemic, I could not be more proud of the work of the MGH Emergency Department, or the service it provides to our community. While the COVID-19 crisis has been awful for humanity in so many ways, the sense of meaningfulness and purpose it brought was undeniable, as was its force as a motivator for innovation, teamwork, and compassion.

Especially within the context of the novel challenges presented during the pandemic, and the ongoing opportunity to further improve our models of emergency care, there seems no better time to support the MGH Emergency Department, and our new Center for Emergency Medicine Innovation, with the goal of creating a sustainable infrastructure aimed at accelerating the development of innovative approaches to patient care across the spectrum of emergency medicine. In addition, all funds raised this year will be generously matched by the Trefler Foundation, effectively doubling the impact of your donation!

Thank you so much for your support, and here’s to a better 2022!
