My Story…
In 2010, I suffered a spinal cord injury during a high school hockey game that has left me paralyzed from the shoulders down. With such a severe injury at such a fragile age, I relied heavily on those around me for support. And the support that I received in the early days has really never wavered. I'm incredibly lucky that I still have so many people to lean on when things get tough.
Knowing how lucky I have been with my support system, I knew I had to give back. It was time for us to become the support system for someone else. That led me to launching the Matt Brown Foundation, with a focus on helping individuals that have suffered spinal cord injuries live a fulfilled life by helping them with their needs.
The Falmouth Road Race has a special place in my heart as I have participated in it in the past and have watched it for many years. To have a team in it this year, raising money for the foundation means the world and I cannot wait for race day!
If you are willing and able, a donation to our marathon team will go a long way to helping the next individual in need. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
