My Story…
I am running my first Falmouth Road Race to support the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress. They have been an amazing source of support for us prenatally, while Mae was in the hospital, and navigating inclusion in public school. I have also been fortunate to be trained as a First Call parent speaking with expectant parents and parents who have young children with Down syndrome about our journey just as they have for us.
Mae is now "almost 6 years old!" and will tell everyone she meets her birthday is June 25th and she is having an Encanto party.
MDSC is an organization that supports families, their caregivers, physicians, and educators. Prenatally until adulthood...it is unlike any other. We are so lucky to live in Massachusetts to benefit from this organization that is quickly finding new parents across the country.
I run for Mae, and all others with an extra chromosome.
