My Story…
I was still trying to figure out how to navigate life with a newborn when I heard the words "I'm so sorry Laurel, the mass we found is cancer." Everything felt overwhelming. Navigating appointments, covering medical expenses, delaying my return to work, transitioning my daughter to formula- each thing more overwhelming than the next. The Ellie Fund helped lift that weight off of my shoulders by covering my family's grocery expenses for 3 months during active treatment.

I'm so grateful to say that after 6 rounds of chemo, 12 rounds of immunotherapy, and a bilateral mastectomy, I am showing NED (no evidence of disease). I am so thankful to exist in a body that was able to carry me through treatment and can now carry me across the finish line of the Falmouth Road Race. It is my absolute honor to raise money for the Ellie Fund and give back to other women who will have to hear the words "I'm so sorry what we found is cancer".
