I am excited to announce that I will be running the Falmouth Road Race on August 21, 2022 on behalf of Family Reach!

Family Reach is a nonprofit organization dedicated to removing the financial barriers standing between a cancer patient and their treatment. Loss of income, out-of-pocket expenses, and socioeconomic factors create disparities in the financial burdens families face. Family Reach delivers our Financial Treatment Program which includes: financial education, financial coaching, resource navigation, and emergency relief funds to patients and caregivers facing a cancer diagnosis. 

This year, I made a change. I became a Resource Navigator, which means that I work directly with patients and healthcare professionals. I I see first hand how devastating the financial barriers of cancer are for families and strongly believe no one should have to choose between their health and their home. We see that our services make a difference as 87% of families who received our full Financial Treatment Program saw a decrease in their financial distress. We as the financial care team are making a difference, but we can't make that difference without YOU and your generous support! 

This is the first road race that I've run in some time. The picture is from the 2016 New York Marathon. It was a day I'll never forget, but it was also a long time ago. I look forward to getting back into running, and I'm also excited to run on behalf of two wonderful people: My wonderful stepmother, a breast cancer survivor, and my biological mother, who had an undiagnosed brain tumor and passed when I was only a few months old. I would not be who I am today without the strong influence of both of these amazing people.
