My Story…
Big News! I’m training to run the 2022 Falmouth Road Race to raise money and awareness to benefit the Parkinson’s Foundation. I’m excited to support groundbreaking research and essential community programs while going the distance as a Parkinson’s Champion!
As many know, my Dad (Gerry McD. / Poppy) was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2019. While there are meds to aide in symptom control + boxing classes to help with balance, Parkinson’s Disease is unfortunately a progressive disease that currently has no cure.
Having worked as a nurse for over 10 years now, I have seen the unfortunate effects of late- stage Parkinson’s Disease and while it’s hard not to think of this, I would rather spend energy on raising money to support the mission of the Parkinson’s Foundation!
I know the last couple of years have been tough, so if you are not able to donate prayers and good vibes for a cooler race day than 2021 are much appreciated too!
Thank you for joining my family and I in our attempt to PUNCH OUT PARKINSON’S!
