Help Una raise money

The MGH Lurie Center for Autism recently recruited Dr. James Bath, a PCP who has unparalleled instincts, skills and knowledge in caring for individuals with autism.  Before Dr. Bath, Anjan had not seen a doctor for 6 years due to his social anxiety.  We worried every day if he was hurting somewhere and we didn't know.  We worried that he wasn't getting his necessary blood draws or shots.  We couldn't take him to the doctor because his anxiety caused him to become aggressive to us and others and it was unsafe.  If it weren't for Dr. Bath, we wouldn't be able to access the care we need to keep Anjan healthy.  

Anjan and Sachin turned 19 in May.  As adults, they will be viewed differently  by the state and federal government as it relates to services and therapies.  As Amit and I navigate guardianship and their future, we are grateful that the one thing we don't worry about is their medical care.  The team at Lurie has a mission to care for individuals for autism through adulthood which is not the case in our national medical community.  Dr. Bath along with the numerous other specialists we see at the Lurie Center have committed to caring for Anjan and Sachin as adults.  It is a gift that I wish many many more of our peers had access to across the country and the globe.  The good news is that Lurie is developing a virtual platform to care for patients and train physicians to share their wealth of knowledge so quality care can be accessed beyond the Lurie Center.  But they need your help to continue to effectively serve our community.  Insurance does not cover the countless hours of follow up these physicians engage in to treat this complicated and deserving population.  Please help me support MGH Lurie Center for Autism.  It is life changing for many families.  Without Lurie, the health of many adults with autism is compromised.
