My youngest daughter Jackie is beautiful, sweet, smart, kind, all the qualities a Mom hopes for in a child. She is 25 years old and has been struggling with substance use disorder since she was 19. It has been a rollercoaster journey, many ups and downs, with some periods of sobriety. She has been to multiple programs yet still seems to struggle with her recovery. I am running for The Herren Project because it provides support to individuals suffering with this disease and it brings hope to families. Recovery is possible. I pray that my running will provide a beacon of hope to the world.
