My Story…
This will be my fifth Falmouth Road Race, but my first running for the Joe Andruzzi Foundation. I am proud to support JAF's mission to provide financial assistance to individuals and families after a cancer diagnosis.
In February 2021, my father was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic prostate cancer. Just a few weeks later, my little sister was diagnosed with Stage III ovarian cancer. So helping families navigate the turmoil and financial stress in the wake of a cancer diagnosis (let alone two) is personal to me.
According to JAF, pending Financial Assistance Program applications are up 68% from last year to date. There has been a tsunami of new cancer diagnoses. Delayed screenings and appointments due to the pandemic have resulted in extraordinary increases and later staged diagnoses. This is a critical time for those patients and their families. The money raised here will go towards funding the JAF’s critical mission to provide financial support to those in need.
No donation is too small. Every dollar counts. Check with your employer to see if they have a donation matching program.
Thank you so much for your support.
