Friends and Family,

This August, I’ll be running my second Falmouth Road Race for Team Herren Project. Of course Falmouth will always have a special place in my heart, and Herren Project is a cause that is dear to me.

Herren Project was founded by former NBA star Chris Herren in 2011. It “is a national nonprofit organization providing free resources and support for the treatment, recovery and prevention of substance use disorder.” 

As many of you know, I first became aware of Herren Project as a teacher at Scituate High School when Chris Herren came to speak to our students. His story was incredibly inspiring, and his mission to help others resonated with me. 

As I did in 2019, I am running this year’s Falmouth Road Race in memory and honor of my cousin, George Nardi. George was a fun-loving, curious, adventurous, kind-hearted individual. I’m running this race in the same spirit of fun and adventure that George embodied in all he did. 

I would be so very grateful if you would consider contributing to my fundraising campaign for Herren Project to support individuals and families navigating the road to recovery. Your donations will go directly to the organization in order to support services such as “treatment placement assistance, long-term recovery support for individuals and families, online support groups, prevention and wellness initiatives, as well as scholarships for treatment programs, recovery housing and recovery coaching.”
