My Story…
Dear Family and Friends,
The Falmouth Road Race was one of the first big road races I ever participated in, and one of my favorites. This year, I am honored to run for Maddie's Promise, a non-profit organization committed to funding impactful research for rare pediatric cancers.
Maddie's Promise was founded in 2019, in honor of Maddie McCoy, a courageous and incredible 11 year old girl from our town of Hingham. Maddie had rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive type of cancerous tumor of the soft tissue. There is no drug to treat rhabdomyosarcoma, and Maddie was devoted to helping fund research to help other pediatric cancer patients. Maddie's Promise has provided direct funding to CuReFast program, and hopes to bring rhabdomyosarcoma to clinical trial. They are also actively collaborating with the Mayo Clinic on research ideas.
My daughter, Lily, wears her purple Maddie's Promise shirt at least once a week. Maddie's brave spirit and loyalty to fellow pediatric cancer patients continues to inspire many.
