My Story…
Three years ago, my dear friend, Susie Shaw, and her family, lost their 9 year-old son, William, in a tragic ski accident. Our community was overwhelmed with grief. The Shaws generously opened their hearts to allow us to grieve alongside them showing all of us who loved William the value of coming together in times of tragedy and loss. In the wake of her son’s death, Susie, with the support of a small group of William’s friends and parents, started a non-profit organization in William’s memory- the William’s Be Yourself Challenge (WBYC). The organization’s aim is to raise awareness about grief and loss, particularly childhood grief, by organizing events that bring community together. I am excited to be running with the WBYC team and thank you for your support!
