My Story…
We have been part of the Next Step family from the very beginning. Our daughter, Emily was one of its first members, or as we say - she was "Paht of the Start"!
Emily came to Next Step at a time when she was struggling and feeling lonely and so lost. Bill & his wonderful staff gave Emily the support, encouragement and community she needed. They continue to do so for the teens and young adults with serious illness which they serve. Over the years, we have watched Next Step grow into this incredible organization. They so such important work.
I am proud to be part of the Next Step family and Team Next Step. This will be the 11th time I have run the Falmouth Road Race in support of Next Step, and I will continue to do so for as long as I can.

Description
Next Step empowers teens and young adults living with with life-threatening diseases to successfully transition from childhood to adulthood and into an adult healthcare system, creating their brightest future. This is done by providing extensive support and teaching essential life skills to help our participants to effectively manage their illness, maintain optimum emotional health, and succeed in their professional career. To accomplish these goals, the Next Step programs address the physical, emotional and developmental issues unique to these young adults through our community, music, and mentorship program and moving our young people closer to, "I believe in me."
