FALMOUTH 2022!!! I am running this awesome road race for Special Olympics of Massachusetts!

Special Olympics is very special to me and my family. In 2011 my son Jonny (a freshman in High School at the time), after having been a unified partner for Special Olympics basketball and soccer in Sudbury, decided that our community needed a team! He started "Metrowest Soccer" in Southborough, MA, a Special Olympics Unified Recreational Sport Program that not only served our immediate Northborough/Southborough community, but also our neighboring communities (Framingham, Ashland, Shrewsbury, Hopkinton.....) He was trained as a coach at the Yawkey Center in Marlborough and was truly amazing as a coach and a role model. 

Over the years our program has grown to include winter basketball along with two soccer seasons each year. We have gotten to know so many incredible athletes and their families over the years. Our unified partners are incredibly dedicated high students from Algonquin Regional High School who are absolutely amazing! 

We are now sponsored by Southborough Recreation who helps us with uniforms, fields, and coaches. Eleven years later I am happy to say that our program is still going strong! We plan to continue our SOMA unified sport programs for as long as the community welcomes us!
