Help Susan raise money

I'm excited to be running my second Falmouth Road Race in support of Independence House.   

As a survivor of domestic violence, I know how critical Independence House's services are to our community.   25 years ago, I found myself in a dangerously abusive situation (physically, sexually, emotionally and financially) with a newborn baby.   With the support and resources of a local non-profit organization and my family, I was able to escape and build an empowered and violence-free life for myself and my son.   I will never forget the abuse I experienced, how difficult it was to free myself or how lucky I was to have the kind of support that Independence House offers.

For over 40 years Independence House has provided free and confidential specialized services and programs for children (ages 5+), teens, adults and the later-in-life community who are survivors of, or impacted by, domestic or sexual violence. 

My goal is to raise $2,000 to help them in support of their mission. Funding will support: 

- Domestic violence secure shelter services

- Family and individual counseling and prevention services for adults and children

- Funding for sexual assault prevention and counseling

- Mentors in Violence Prevention programs at area secondary schools

These programs save lives and help to end domestic violence.  I'd love your support and any amount can make a big difference!   Thank you,   Susan
