For participating in The 2022 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

Team Eye and Ear Falmouth 2022

On March 3, 2020, a cancerous tumor was discovered by Dr. Mukai at Mass Eye and Ear in my youngest daughter Addie's eye.  She was 6 years old and diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer that typically appears in much younger children. Thanks to Mass Eye and Ear, Addie was immediately scheduled to have her eye removed just 6 days later to prevent the cancer from spreading. On March 9, 2020, Addie had her eye removed safely before the cancer had the chance to spread. The surgery was successful and the nurses and staff at Mass Eye and Ear were wonderful during all of the appointments and surgery. Addie is now 9 years old and thriving in third grade. Even though she has one working eye and a prosthetic right eye, she is doing well in school, playing soccer and lacrosse. Our family is so grateful for the care from Mass Eye and Ear. I decided to join the Mass Eye and Ear Team in running the Falmouth Road Race this summer. This will be the 20th time I have run the race, but the first time with my son Tyler (14) and Natalie. We are all running to help raise money for Mass Eye and Ear. Thank you for visiting my page and any donation will be greatly appreciated and will go directly to Dr. Mukai's office, in Addie's honor, to help with his research.
