My Story…
I am so excited to be running the Falmouth Road Race this year through Brigham & Women's Hospital. My fundraising will support the Rose Du Research Fund which aims to better understand the development of cerebral aneurysms, and detect them earlier in those at risk. Unfortunately, 40% of those with a cerebral aneurysm that ruptures will not survive longer than 24 hours. Early detection and prevention for those at genetic risk will save lives and I am so happy to be supporting this research within my own hospital.
Being a runner from Cape Cod, it has been a longstanding goal of mine to run the Falmouth Road Race, and to support this cause in the process is very exciting. Both my grandmother and father have been treated for ruptured cerebral aneurysms by the neurosurgical team at BWH and have been cared for by the Neuroscience ICU nurses. To support this cause at my own workplace is incredibly rewarding and I hope that you will consider donating.
