Hello! 

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page! I am proud to announce that my first ever road race will be in support of the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress!

For the last few years, my wife and I have spent our winters coaching the MCW STARZ Special Olympics Basketball Team. Each week the athletes show up with such an amazing attitudes. They are ready to learn and improve their basketball skills, build friendships with their teammates, and get into a bit of harmless mischief! They are the true motivators for me to support and advocate for them. 

I also understand first hand how important organizations like MDSC can be to their beneficiaries. I was born with a genetic disorder, Hemophilia. Although my condition does not often present itself physically to others, hemophiliacs typically have joint issues that prevent them from participating in high impact activities. One of the activities I struggled with was distance running! Through the advocacy and resources of groups similar to MDSC though, I have been able to control my condition and slowly build up the joint strength to compete in my first road race this August! My time spent with the athletes on MCW Starz inspires me to train for this 7 mile race in just a few months
