My Story…
As you may know, I have volunteered with Big Brother Big Sister (https://www.bbbs.org) for over three years now. I have found the program incredibly rewarding and I really enjoyed time with my Little, Sophia, as well. She is now 11 years old in 5th grade living in Chelsea, MA. This year I am running the Falmouth Road Race (7 mile race) for Big Brother Big Sister.
This organization helped me find the perfect match to be my Little. Sophia has impacted my life just as much, if not more so than I have hers. She is being raised by a single mother with three other siblings, Riley, Melany, and Logan, two of which have cancer. They all live in a small apartment in Chelsea but despite all the chaos going on at home, Sophia is always smiling and full joy. She is continuing to do well in school and is always willing to try something new. Together we have explored and hiked, been to museums and the aquarium, ridden our bikes all over, took surf lessons and participated in a beach clean up, watched Blue Man Group perform (twice, fan favorite), walked around Boston, tried new foods, learned new sports, and so much more.
I really appreciate your donation to such a wonderful cause!
