Help Samantha raise money

On August 21st, I will lace up my shoes to run the Falmouth Road Race for the first time! I always wanted to participate in Falmouth as it's an event that brings together runners of all levels to celebrate the organizations that give back across Massachusetts and beyond. I'm excited to run for Good Sports, a non-profit with a mission to support children in high-need zip codes with equipment and other costs associated with participating in sports. My goal is to raise $750 for the children they serve.

More than ever, children from low-resourced communities experience significant financial barriers when playing sports. Equipment resources can make the difference for kids to try new activities, increase their minutes of play per day, and experience all of the academic, social, and emotional benefits of active play. 

Participating in sports is associated with:

          • Lower rates of anxiety and depression

          • Lower amounts of stress

          • Higher self-esteem and confidence

          • Reduced risk of suicide

          • Less substance abuse and fewer risky behaviors

          • Increased cognitive performance

          • Increased creativity

          • Greater enjoyment of all forms of physical activity

          • Improved psychological and emotional well-being for individuals with disabilities

          • Increased life satisfaction

Now I need your help to reach my goal! Every bit helps reach my fundraising goal of $750, but as an incentive, anyone that donates $25 or more will be entered to win four lobster rolls and a Maine blueberry pie from Luke's Lobster, shipped straight to your door!
