Help william raise money

For participating in The 2022 ASICS Falmouth Road Race

My Story…

Hello! I am participating in the 50th running of the Falmouth Road Race and I am raising funds for Calmer Choice. I am running to raise awareness for children’s mental health and to honor my 12-year-old son, Trevor, who died by suicide on April 6th, 2021

Calmer Choice delivers an in-school, low-cost, preventative program that equips children with a suite of skills to learn self-control, increase inner resilience, reduce the impact of stress, manage emotional responses better, and increase their sense of well-being.

Calmer Choice is an 8-week program implemented for 20 minutes twice a week for elementary school students and once a week for 45 minutes to middle and high school students.

During each session, students learn how to direct their attention to their experience, i.e., focusing on breathing, listening, kindness, gratitude, and happiness.

Students and teachers learn how these skills are like strength training for the brain and rewire neurological pathways that make paying attention, sustaining concentration, and regulating emotion easier.

Lesson topics also include brain science and stress physiology, the five senses, body awareness, mind-body connection, emotional awareness, perspective taking, optimism and understanding and compassionately managing difficult emotions.

Thank you for your support in a cause I believe in. Together we can save lives and bring hope to children in need of support.

In honor of our son Trevor, we started a foundation to address children's mental health, an area of urgent and unmet need. During the COVID-19 epidemic, the mental health of every school-aged child we know has suffered.

Our goal is to help children wrestling with mental health issues.
