ABOUT: Now in its 4th year, the #FernieStreak is back once again - as a fun, supportive nudge to get outside and get active!
As with last year, the 2022 Streak sees Online registration and tracking options – with the ability to sign up the entire family, including kids dogs too; the addition of downhill skiing; the push for safe COVID-safe adventuring; and the goal to raise money for a very worthwhile cause.
HOW TO STREAK: The #FernieStreak is simple. Ski (Nordic or Downhill), Snowboard, Bike, Run, Hike, Skate, Shovel (or whatever you like!) outside, on your own steam, for a minimum of 30 minutes, on 31 consecutive days - with the goal being the entire month of January 2022.
REGISTER & DONATE ONLINE: This year the #FernieStreak is a fundraising initiative for Twin Meadows Animal Rescue - a non-profit animal rescue organization located in Fernie.
The $10 registration fee for Adults (Kids + Dogs are free!) will be donated. Plus there's an opportunity at registration to donate additional funds to this amazing campaign, so let's see how much we can raise!
TRACK: The #FernieStreak is a personal challenge. No awards, no podium, no prizing. However, if you’d like to track your performance, there are two ways to do so...
Option 1: Use the Fernie Fix #FernieStreak Calendar. Find your copy in January's Fernie Fix, or download the PDF calendar, HERE.
Option 2: NEW! this year, you can join the FernieStreak Club on Strava. New to Strava? Simply download the FREE Strava app on your phone, join the Fernie Streak Club (search under Clubs), then each time you head outside, open Strava + press START and it will track your activities – and automatically link to the Fernie Streak Strava Club.
SHARE: Motivate others and share your adventures on social - using #FernieStreak2022, or post direct to our #FernieStreak Facebook Group, HERE.
PRIZE-FREE: As with 2021, we're once again going prize-free. So, turn the tables and show your streak’in support, by shopping and supporting local.
COVID-SAFE: While streak’in is certainly better with friends, family and colleagues, this year please ensure you stay safe – adventuring below your ability level, and inline with current COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions.
