Awards – top 3 finishers (male/female) overall in each distance will be presented with a small token. Your bib is chip timed; awards are based on overall finish time. Awards will be presented once we have finishers in each distance.
Volunteers – we are looking for a couple early morning volunteers (6am start) to help with parking. If you are able to come a bit early or have a family member coming with you who is willing to help out, please email Jodi asap.
Many thanks to Kinesys Performance Sunscreen for providing a travel size sample to each runner, you will receive it with your kit. Bug spray might be in order; keep your fingers crossed for no rain.
Please take a moment to thank our awesome volunteers when you see them because without them, there is no race!
See you on race day,
Jodi & Norman

1st Annual Rainbow Trail Run
The Rainbow Trail Run consists of a 12K loop (approximate) around Earl Rowe Provincial Park.
It's mostly double wide, some grass, some dirt and a tiny bit of pavement (when crossing over park roads) and bridge crossings over Earl Rowe Lake. It's a relatively flat course with one short climb up to the Lookout (photo opp for sure!). Awesome course for those new to trail running!
UPDATE:
The 14 Loop Solo & Relay distance has been cancelled for 2022 as we did not reach the minimum. We plan to add this distance back in 2023. The remaining distances are a go!
Please note: in order for the 14 Loop Solo & Relay events to proceed, we require a minimum of 10 participants and/or teams. If this number is not reached by June 30th, we will remove this distance for 2022.

THE COURSE
Our race is named after the trail we are using at Earl Rowe, called "Rainbow Run," which is named for the rainbow trout migration that occurs each Spring. But also, who doesn't love rainbows?
It's mostly double wide, some grass, some dirt and a tiny bit of pavement (when crossing over park roads) and bridge crossings over Earl Rowe Lake. It's a relatively flat course with one short climb up to the Lookout (photo opp for sure!). Awesome course for those new to trail running!
Your race fee covers entry into the Park for one vehicle so are able to bring family/friends along. Additional spectators coming in separate vehicles will be charged $15.50 per vehicle to enter.
1 loop is approximately 12K.
2 loops = 24K
4 loops = 48K
8 loops = 96K
Cancelled for 2022 due to low participation: 14 loops = 168 K (so you can claim your 100M buckle!
The Park features many facilities that you can enjoy post-race such as swimming, canoeing and camping.
(all distances are approximate - GPS measurements will vary from individual to individual)
SWAG & AWARDS
SWAG
Every finisher will receive a unique medal featuring race logo and a super-awesome water-resistant drawstring shoe bag.
In addition to the tote bag, the first 50 registrants, will also receive a pair of custom Rainbow socks!
AWARDS
Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers male/female in solo events will be acknowledged atop our podium with a custom award.
If we have more than 100 racers in a distance, we will add age group awards too.
COVID 19 PROTOCOLS
As the situation with COVID 19 is very fluid and ever-changing, we will post the most up to date protocols to be followed by race organizers, volunteers and participants closer to race day. As of March 1, Athletics Ontario has waived the proof of vaccination requirement. We will however follow all required guidelines as dictated by Public Health and/or our race venues. If there are any changes or additions, they will be posted here so please refer back here for information.
AID STATIONS * CUP-FREE * DROP BAGS * CUTOFF
AID STATIONS
We will have 2 aid stations on course - one at the Start/Finish line and one approximately half way through the 12K loop. Aid Stations will feature water, electrolytes, fruit, sweets and salty snacks. Should you have a dietary restriction or a favourite drink/snack, please feel free to supply your own. Once your race is completed you can visit the aid station at the Finish for additional snacks.
WE ARE A CUP-FREE EVENT!
What does this mean? You will receive a reusable, silicone flask with your race swag that we strongly encourage you carry with you to use at the aid stations as we will NOT have any plastic (non-reusable) cups. You can refill the provided flask or your own bottle(s) at the aid stations.
DROP BAGS
The Start/Finish area will have ample space to allow for runners to leave a drop bag (at your own risk) that you can access after your first or later loops. We will set up a 10 x 10 tent specifically for this purpose close to the loop exit point. You are welcome to bring a shelter (no larger than 10' x 10' please) and we will direct you where to set it up.
CUTOFF
The cutoff time for the 8 Loop is 15 hours.
TIMING & RESULTS
Chip timing provided by Enfield Timing.
Results will be posted here after the event.
