Registration for the 22nd annual Quincy Medical Group (QMG) Bridge the Gap Race is now open! We’re bummed that the bridges will be closed again this year for our race due to additional construction work, but we are excited to share that you can enjoy your run through multiple parks thanks to the Quincy Park District. Take advantage of the opportunity to run across various smaller bridges, along with enjoying the beautiful view of the Mississippi River. We’ve made sure to include Bill Klinger Trail for our 10K and half marathon runners.
This year’s event features two options:
(1) an in-person 5K run/walk, 10K run, half marathon, and Paul Arndt Kids Fun Run in Quincy, IL on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
(2) a virtual 5K run/walk, 10K run, and half marathon which can be completed on your own turf anytime May 14 – 16, 2022.
The QMG Bridge the Gap to Health Race has brought people near and far together to share in the experience of running or walking to help bridge the gap in community needs. As needs change, we took this as an opportunity to take a closer look at the remaining gaps in our community. That led us to the YWCA Supportive Housing Program. The YWCA supports some of the most vulnerable individuals and families in our community and moves them from homelessness to safe, affordable housing.
We invite you to join us in-person or virtually for the 22nd Annual Bridge the Gap to Health Race as we gather in support of the YWCA and those in our community who need us most. In addition to supporting the needs of the YWCA, race organizers are asking participants to bring a canned food item at packet pickup to be donated to local food pantries to help us reach even more families in our area.

Virtual Kids Run for kids ages 3 to 12. Ages 3-4 will do 50 meters, 5-6 year olds do 100 meters, 7-9 year olds do 200 meters, and 10-12 year olds will do 300 meters.

Packet Pickup
Packet pickup will take place at the Quincy University Student Health & Fitness Center - Hall of Fame Room & South Lobby at the following dates and times:
Friday, May 13 - 12pm-7pm
Race organizers are asking participants to bring a canned food item at packet pick-up which will then distributed to local food pantries in our area.
Virtual Registrants will have their packets mailed on Monday, May 16th.
Awards
5K - Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female overall finishers, as well as the top 3 male and females in the following age groups:
10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.
10K - Awards will be given to the top 3 male and female overall finishers, as well as the top 3 male and females in the following age groups:
19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
