Benefiting: Compass & CASA
There are kids all around us who see the world a lot differently than we do. They feel isolated and confused as the world moves on without them. Compass provides support, training, and financial assistance to help foster families make a difference in the lives of these kids. We give families the skills, tools, and financial resources that are needed to bring the mission field into their homes.
Foster families provide love, guidance, and hope to kids in need. Compass is committed to finding foster families who are able to provide a stable home environment with supervision, structure, and support to ensure youth have every opportunity for success.
Wondering how to help? Invest in a child. Impact a future.
It is often said that children are our future. If tomorrow is up to them, then today is up to us. We need to invest in our children. The greatest use of life is to live it for something that will outlast it. We believe this is our calling as Christians. making an impact in the life of a hurting child or struggling family will influence not only their lives, but it will also impact our future.
Our Mission: To recruit, train, and coach community volunteers to assist the court system on behalf of abused and neglected children. We strive to advocate for a safe/stable environment, permanency, and the opportunity to thrive.
Our Vision: We envision a well-trained team of advocates to provide a voice for every abused and neglected child in the court system within our community.
Core Values: Making a difference, compassionate, engaging, reliable, understanding, and educated.
What is a CASA Volunteer? CASA volunteers are community volunteers who are not part of the child welfare system. They focus their efforts solely on gathering information and making recommendations regarding children who have been abused or neglected and in the court system, who would otherwise have no voice. CASA Volunteers are carefully screened and very well trained by professional staff. They receive a minimum of 30 hours of initial training and 12 hours of ongoing training every year.
Why Give?
Donate to help abused and neglected children find safety, permanency, and have the opportunity to thrive. When you donate to Kearney/Buffalo County CASA, those donations stay local. Your support allows us to screen, train and support volunteers who advocate for children right here in Kearney and Buffalo counties. You are also making a difference by helping to build a national movement for child advocacy. Dedicated volunteer advocates across the country are working tirelessly to ensure every abused and neglected child’s needs and best interests are met and their voice is heard.
