A Run & Walk through History

LOCATION: Metairie Cemetery, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, La. 70124

( Race day activities held in parking lot behind the funeral home )

Parking: Use the Large parking lot on side of funeral home. When this lot fills up you will be directed to alternate parking areas on the north side of funeral home. * Please DO NOT park on streets inside cemetery with burial spaces as that is part of the run/walk course.

TIME:

7:30 am - Race Day Registration and Packet Pickup opens on site

8:30 am - Start of A Run/Walk through History 1K ( 0.62 miles )

8:45 am - Start of A Run/Walk through History 5K

Entry fees:

General Registration ( Age 18-64 ): $30.00 by February 6th, $35.00 by March 24th, $40.00 on day of race

Youth ( Age 17-under ) and Seniors ( Age 65-over ) : $25.00 by March 24th, $30.00 on day of race.

Proof of age may be required at packet pickup / registration kiosk

ONLINE Registration will close at 11:00 pm on Sunday, March 20, 2022

Registration will still be available at the pre-race day packet pickup event and on the day of race ( see details below )

Virtual Entry: Entry fee is $35.00 ( available thru March 20th )

* Virtual entry - Your T-Shirt, Bib number, finisher medallion will be mailed to you. Domestic shipping only. Mailed after race date ,

Please allow 2-3 weeks.

Pre-Race Day packet pickup: Thursday, March 24th, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm hosted by Louisiana Running and Walking Company, 4153 Canal Street, New Orleans.

Or

Day of race, Sunday, March 27th. at the race site opening at 7:30 am

* Registration in person will be available during pre-race day packet pickup and at the race site on day of race.

Adult X-Large, Adult XX-Large ( *$3.00 mark up for size XX-Large )

Running or Walking with pets and strollers is discouraged, not recommended

The A Run/Walk through History is owned and produced by New Orleans Running Systems Road Race Management and by Lakelawn Cemetery and Funeral home.

Chip timed event.

Please wear your bib number on Front and visible. Your timing chip is affixed to reverse side of your bib.

Do not fold bib or timing chip.

Custom commemorative medallions to all official finishers ( One medallion per entry/bib number please )

5K Awards: Gift card for a pair of running shoes to the 1st overall 5K Male and Female.

GOODr brand sunglasses to the 1st Overall Male, Female in the 5K Open, Masters, Grand Masters, Senior, Youth divisions.

Age divisions 5K: 1st and 2nd place ages 14-under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-over.

5K Race walkers: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place overall male and female

1K Award divisions: 1st overall male and female and 1st, 2nd place in youth ages 6-under, 7-9, 10-12

Award presentations held day of race beginning at 10:00 am ( awards are not mailed )

RESULTS: Streaming live day of race and posted at www.NOLArunning.com

PHOTOS: Posted on New Orleans Running Systems face book page soon after event.

NOTE: On course plenty of directional signage placed. Follow directional signs. Race officials also placed on course at key sections.

Safety note: A few street sections have tree roots protruding out into lane pavement. Watch footing. Cemetery built in 1872 roadways narrow. Event is the largest Run/Walk held totally inside a cemetery. ENJOY
