Why I support West Cancer Foundation

My experience with West Cancer Center began in 2013, when I was diagnosed with Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer.  I was 32 years old, newly married, healthy, and active and a cancer diagnosis was the farthest thing from my mind.  


Rusty and I started Team 5-Kate in 2013 to raise both awareness and funds for cancer research.  Since my initial diagnosis, I have had several reoccurrence and have experienced first hand the benefits from innovative procedures and treatments, which have been used to treat my cancer. The development of these types of cutting edge procedures as well as continued advances with trials and other immunotherapy drugs are made possible by funding cancer research and I am asking for your help again this year!


While our experiences may be different, one thing that is the likely the same is the impact that cancer has had on our lives in some way.

For more than 40 years, the West name has been synonymous with innovative research and compassionate patient care. Now West Cancer Foundation is taking the next step in the fight against cancer by investing in cancer research and education, supporting cancer patients, and promoting the overall health of our community. 

Your donation is critical to advancing the science of how the world treats cancer and educates the next generation of oncologists and providers. Your gifts ensure that women without insurance have access to potentially lifesaving mammograms and access to care. Your generosity helps provide transportation and support to patients facing a life-threatening cancer diagnosis.
