Our story…
Last year, 2021, we raised $1800 for Jodi's Race! Let's knock this out of the ball park with over $3500 this year!
Hello sweet friend! I want to share something with you that is sacred to my heart. The reason I am sharing this with you is to spread awareness of conditions that many women are facing and getting mis-diagnosed. I would love for you to take the time to walk in this journey with my story to help the women in your life. Before my surgery, I kept my health journey a secret. I was ashamed about the things that went on with my “issues”. As they were private, uncomfortable things. I will share first, that I am 100% free of the disease that I found myself with two years ago. I am messaging you today to join me in support … if you are called … to walk beside me on June 8th. Whether in spirit, or walking or supporting from a distance - for a loved one in treatment, a survivor or a lost loved one; would you join me and my team?
My story:I found myself starving, losing weight quickly and mis-diagnosed with “diet issues” with my “IBS symptoms” 2 years ago. Isn’t it bizarre that an ovarian tumor could cause issues with:- Bloating- Pelvic or Abdominal Pain- Difficulty Eating or Feeling Full Quickly- Urinary Urgency or Frequency
Do you agree that these symptoms sound like something bowel related? This is why this disease is mis-diagnosed. It is known as the “silent killer” for women and unfortunately many women struggle and never know what it is until it is too late. Did you know that an ovarian tumor cannot be detected in a regular pap screening? I always had “clean pap visits” with “no abnormalities”. My tumor was only found with MRI screening and was the size of a soft ball! Through self-advocacy and diligent searching for the right answers, I was able to avoid chemotherapy and the mass, along with other troubled organs, were removed within weeks of proper diagnosis.
I am WELL and getting my 5 year tests done soon. My mission is to spread awareness and share a message of self advocation for all who struggle with physical issues!
We aim to change the health and quality of life for all! Our mission with this campaign is to bring education to the masses about ovarian cancer, symptoms with hopes of saving lives for millions of women who have been mis-diagnosed.Would you join me in support of this mission? We plan to walk (or skip) together at Jodi’s Race, here in Denver, CO. Unable to walk to unavailable June 11th? We would love your support in other ways as well.Ways to help:
