The Women For Women originated back in 2003..... a community driven event. It’s energy and purpose is to bring awareness and funds to women in education, women and families in need, youth and organizations. It’s popularity and growth has helped and supported over 30 single mothers that have gone through the North Island College Foundation. To date...the WFW has raised just over $24 thousand for single mothers to apply for the foundations bursaries. While education is important, so is family and non profit organizations....it's benefits become full circle when there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
The funds raised through a registration fee to complete the walk or run distance shares its wealth with 5 other important charitable and educational causes....CR Young Parents Program, The Transition House(Women's Centre, Rose Harbor Society & Ann Elmore House), Robron/ Continuing Education, Babies Best Chance and the Foundry....
