Our Cause
Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little known and poorly understood type of heart attack. Most patients are young, healthy, active women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease. Although less common, it can affect men too. SCAD can recur and can be fatal. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.
SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms.
SCADaddle
Our 5K Fun Run/Walk takes place at beautiful Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Charter Township, Michigan (approximately 20 miles NE of downtown Detroit). The paved course winds among the trees and along Lake St. Clair's shoreline.
Register by August 21 to guarantee this year's t-shirt.
Fun Run: Everyone who is registered will get a medal.
Join us for refreshments, SCAD store, quilt drawing, raffles on baskets, face painting and fun for all.
RACE DETAILS
Race Day Registration: 7:30 am - 8:15 am. Cannot guarantee a race shirt for race day registration.
Registration will also be taken at packet pick-up at the Hyatt Place Detroit Utica (45400 Park Ave, Utica, MI) from 5:30-7:30pm on Sept. 9 and on race day.

This wonderful, cheerful quilt could be yours! The more tickets you purchase for $10 each, the more opportunities you will have to call this SCAD Warrior Quilt your own!
The 57” x 49” quilt was made by Donna Tavalieri in honor of her friend Karen Glugla, a SCAD survivor. You'll find the tag with a beautiful tribute to Karen in the bottom corner of the quilt.
Tickets are available online until midnight Sept. 7, they will also be sold during the reunion on 9/9 and at the 5K on 9/10. The winner will be announced Saturday at the end of the 5K. We will ship if you aren't able to attend.
