My Story…
SCAD?? I had never heard of it until my niece suffered a heart attack in her 40s. Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) was the cause -- and is the cause of heart attacks in many women under the age of 50. I'm thrilled to report that my niece is a SCAD survivor! This is my opportunity to support her and other SCAD survivors in funding much needed research for this poorly understood type of heart attack.
