Join us for GOFM’s inaugural Market Mile on April 24, 2022!
Runners & walkers of all levels, ages & speeds are welcome to participate. Choose to run or take a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood & stop at the notable historical spots identified by Galveston Unscripted that we’ll have posted for you to read & enjoy. We encourage you to sprint the route as fast you can or grab a stroller, dog leash & a coffee for an amble with friends (& the chance to make new ones!)
At the finish line, join the big post-race market party with live music from PB N’ Jam Jar, local treats & drinks, and of course, our weekly farmers market!

Why Market Mile?
We’ve long daydreamed about a funrun that brings together folks in the name of neighborhood connection, health & outdoor fun, but the true catalyst behind the Market Mile is one of our long-time vendors, David Sabot, who passed away in 2021 from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. David Sabot was an avid runner and a Race Director. He managed the ‘Run For Health 5K’ for many years while vending microgreens at GOFM with his wife at Galveston’s Own Farmers Market. David’s attitude about life and health rings in our hearts as we honor his memory with this inaugural Market Mile. |  Siok-Hong & David |
Proceeds will benefit Galveston’s Own Farmers Market’s Food Access Programming, including our SNAP-matching & WIC voucher initiatives. David was an avid supporter of these programs that aim to bring good food to all.

Register before April 6 to be guaranteed a shirt & in the right shirt size. Pins available for the first 100 folks.
Due to manufacturer supply chain issues, we can no longer offer the Market Mile enamel pins. It’s a bummer, we know! We are disappointed to not have these groovy pins for you, but we’re grateful for your enthusiasm & participation in this exciting inaugural event.

Packet Pick-up
Save the date for packet pick-up, where you will be able to pick up your Market Mile bib and shirt! There will also be packet pickup available on race day, but we strongly urge participants to pick up ahead of time.
Can't make it? A friend can pick up your packet for you! All they need is your name.

Where do the registration proceeds & donations go?
Proceeds benefit the programs of Galveston’s Own Farmers Market.
Can I Walk?
Yes! Run, walk, stroll, jump, hop or skip down the course.
Are dogs or strollers allowed?
Absolutely! If you are participating with a stroller or pet you’ll start at the end of the corral.
I missed the event! Can I get my items?
Due to the overall nature of the event, there is a chance that you will not be able to receive your items. Folks that registered after 4/6 to pick a size from the extras, and the remaining items will be donated.
Refund Policy:
Due to the nature of the event and the proceeds directly benefit our programs and funding the event, no refunds will be given.
Weather Policy:
The event will go on rain or shine - however, if weather becomes too dangerous, GOFM will cancel the race.
